Wednesday 11 March 2026 Dance House 2026 Well done to our amazing dancers at last night's Dance House 2026 at the Pavilion Theatre in Worthing. The dance group were amazing with their 'Six; The Musical' inspired dance routine! They performed in front of a very large audience - you did so well! Unfortunately, we were not allowed to take any photos of the actual performance, but we do have photos (below) of the rehearsal earlier in the day and a couple of photos of the girls in their great costumes!

Thursday 26 February 2026 Corporate Challenge Chichester Road Race - Race One - Feb 2026 Well done to all our fantastic runners last night who enjoyed racing in the first of a series of three road races through the streets of Chichester last night. You all ran brilliantly with a great attitude to trying your best! Photos below.

Sunday 8 February 2026 Netball Tournament - Feb 2026 Well done to our netball team last Wednesday who only narrowly missed out on qualifying for the next round of their tournament. Our team came fourth and it came down to the last few minutes of the last match they played to try and make it into the top three! Mrs York in assembly commended our team for encouraging each other and playing with a brilliant team spirit! Well done to all of you.

Wednesday 28 January 2026 Cross Country - Jan 2026 Well done to all our cross country runners this afternoon who ran really well in beautiful sunshine but somewhat 'good to soft' conditions! Everyone tried their best and enjoyed running and competing against lots of children from other schools. Over the course of the afternoon, over 500 runners were taking part from both primary schools and secondary schools! Well done to our running team - you did us proud!

Friday 19 December 2025 Carols Around The Tree - Dec 2025 What a beautiful way to finish the Autumn term with our traditional 'Carols Around The Tree' in the atrium this afternoon! It was also a lovely treat to hear Jingle Bells played superbly by our music group! May we wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year and we will see you all again on Tuesday, 6th January (Monday 5th January is an INSET day).

Friday 19 December 2025 St Mary's Christmas Church Service - Dec 2025 Tim, our local vicar and Co-Chair of Governors, led us in our Christmas worship this morning where children unwrapped a number of presents to reveal parts of the nativity story. Photos here.

Friday 19 December 2025 Christmas Jumper Day! - Dec 2025 We all had a lot of fun yesterday on "Christmas Jumper" day with Christmas dinner, carol singing practice and the traditional "12 Days of Christmas!" after the Christmas lunch where the children sang the "12 Days of Christmas" song and had to stand up when it was their birth month - and sit down when it wasn't! Lots of Christmas confusion ensued! Photos below.

Thursday 18 December 2025 Henry Adams Christmas Competition - Dec 2025 Well done to all the children that entered the Henry Adams Christmas Competition this year. There were some fantastic creations using recycled materials! It was really hard for Dee and Louise to judge! A particular well done to our overall winners in the Infants and Juniors who won lego prizes! Thank you again to Henry Adams for supporting this competition and well done to everyone who took part! Friday 12 December 2025 Santa's Grotto and Presents for Parents/Carers - Dec 2025 What a special day here at school today! A huge thank you to the PTA for creating a prefect grotto for Father Christmas to come and visit today. The children were enchanted in such a special place as Father Christmas warmly welcomed each and every child. The children also had the opportunity to buy a present for a loved one today. We mustn't forget to thank the Y6 elves for helping the day run so smoothly! Photos below.

Friday 5 December 2025 Christmas Fair 2025 - Dec 2025 A massive thank you to all the PTA members who organised another hugely successful Christmas Fair once again! It was a really 'Christmassy' atmosphere, everyone had fun and lots of funds were raised for our school! It was also great to hear our brilliant choir setting the tone with some lovely Christmas carols! Thank you once again to everyone who contributed to such a wonderful community Christmas celebration! Sunday 30 November 2025 Christingle - Dec 2025 Well done to our Y3 and Y4 children who represented the school so well at the Christingle Service this morning. You read and sang beautifully as you led the worship service as we learnt about Christingle and its importance in the lead up to Christmas. Photos below.

Wednesday 26 November 2025 Girls' Football Tournament - Nov 2025 A massive well done to our girls in Y5 and Y6 who took part in the Bognor Area Girls' Football Tournament today. The girls had a busy afternoon playing nine matches against other local schools. Incredibly, the girls won 8 games and drew one game! This meant that the girls were placed first in the whole tournament! The girls will now go on to the next round in January! Well done girls - you were amazing!

Wednesday 19 November 2025 Festival of Friendship! - Nov 2025 Children across the school celebrated the power of friendship this afternoon in our 'Festival of Friendship!' The children took part in a number of activities including looking at how friendship is interpreted in the Bible through stories like 'The Good Samaritan' and quotes from scripture. Children in Y5/Y6 even learnt how to sign, 'You've Got A Friend In Me', which they performed in a special assembly at the end of the day. Photos below.

Tuesday 11 November 2025 Boys' Football Tournament - Nov 2025 Our first sports tournament of the year involved nine Y6 boys who were a credit to the school as they took part in the local area football tournament. The boys scored a few goals, tried their hardest and played with a brilliant collective team spirit! Well done boys - we were very proud of your effort today!

Tuesday 11 November 2025 Remembrance Day Worship - Nov 2025 Mr Jolley led our worship today with a poignant collective worship where we remembered all those who sacrificed their lives for our country, particularly those who died in World War I and World War II. The children were then very respectful in observing two minutes silence to reflect on these sacrifices as we also thought about all those who serve in our military, both past and present.

Friday 10 October 2025 Y5 Harvest Service - Oct 2025 Well done to Indigo Class for presenting your Harvest Service so well this morning at St. Mary's. It was lovely to hear the stories reminding us of the importance of this time of year in the church calendar. Tuesday 30 September 2025 Y4 trip to Brighton Museum - Sep 2025 Year 4 had a great day today at Brighton Museum where they got to handle real Egyptian artifacts and studied other artifacts in the two Egyptian galleries at Brighton Museum. The children also got to play the role of trainee High Priest Embalmers as they took part in the mummification process in full detail! Photos below.

Wednesday 17 September 2025 Y6 - Weald and Downland Museum - Sep 2025 Year 6 visited the Weald and Downland Museum today as part of their Tudor Topic. They visited the Winkhurst Tudor Kitchen, Bayleaf Farmstead, Cowfold Barn and Pendean Farmhouse, which was one of the first homes to have proper chimneys in 1586. The children had lots of fun finding out about life in the Tudor times and just how hard life was. Lots of positive comments by volunteers about how polite and well mannered the children were too. We even managed to dodge the rain! Photos below.

Tuesday 22 July 2025 Mrs Plater & Mr Illsley Farewell Assembly - July 2025 Yesterday we had a farewell assembly for Mrs Plater and Mr Illsley. For Mrs Plater, it is a temporary 'farewell' as she goes on maternity leave before having a baby in the not too distant future! We will see Mrs Plater again when she returns from maternity leave. Mr Illsley has been an absolutely fantastic L.S.A. in Year 5 and he is leaving us for pastures new as he embarks on a career in the Navy, after travelling around Europe for a while.

Friday 18 July 2025 Mrs Brockhurst's Farewell Assembly - July 2025 We shared a poignant, emotional final VIP assembly of the year today for the Very Important Person that is Mrs Brockhurst who has been our Headteacher for 11 years! The children from each class paid tribute to Mrs Brockhurst with lovely messages and cards. It was then the turn of Mrs Brockhurst to offer gifts for all the classes and a new school bell with our school motto, "The Joy, The Journey, The Learning" inscribed on the bell! A lovely way for the children to begin their goodbyes for a lovely Headteacher! Photos below.

Thursday 17 July 2025 Y5 Greek Day - July 2025 Indigo Class packed a lot into their Greek day yesterday! A mini-Olympics took place, alongside learning how to write their names in Greek. Also, the children played a Greek Gods themed game of 'corners;, made laurel wreaths, created board games and Greek top trumps, designed a new Greek flag and managed to perform a Greek dance - all in one day!
