Special Educational Needs
At Walberton & Binsted CE Primary School, inclusion is at the heart of who we are. We are proud to be a school where every child is known, valued and supported to thrive.
We believe that all children should feel safe, happy and successful in school. Some children may need additional support, adaptations or specialist provision at different points in their school journey, and we work closely with families and external professionals to make sure the right support is in place.
Our approach to SEND is built on high expectations, strong relationships and a commitment to removing barriers to learning. We want every child to take part fully in school life, develop confidence and independence, and achieve the very best they can.
Class teachers are responsible for meeting the needs of all pupils in their class, supported by our SENDCo and wider staff team. Where a child may need something additional or different, we follow a clear graduated approach: assess, plan, do and review. Parents and carers are important partners in this process, and we value open, honest and supportive communication.
Our SENDCo is Karen Lehmann. She can be contacted through the school office or by email at SENDCo@walbertonbinsted.org.uk.
