We reviewed your application and noted the following:

It’s very impressive that you have formed such a large Eco-Committee. It shows that young people in your school are aware of environmental issues and committed to being active and creating positive change.

This knowledge and attitude has provided your school with excellent foundations for the many successes that you’ve achieved this year. It’s great to hear from the quote provided that your School plays an active role in creating change and encourages students to also be a part of this. It’s great to read that completing the Environmental Review helped you appreciate existing initiatives as well as identifying areas for improvement.

The comments on your Environmental Review were thoughtful and gave our team a glimpse into the discussion that took place amongst young people. Great work everyone!

We thought your Action Plan was beautifully designed and very easy to understand. It was great to see how you carefully considered findings from your Environmental Review and factored them into the creation of your Action Plan. A great sign of critical thinking! This is what the best forms of climate action are about – impactful but achievable things that create a positive experience and prompt more action and we believe you have managed to achieve this. Great work!

The three curriculum examples provided are a great example of environmental education. They are practical and fun examples of eco-education with a real-life context that will engage young people. We hope all staff members involved in your Eco-Schools work take immense amounts of pride from the parental quote uploaded.

Your hard work and dedication has inspired young people and empowered them with the belief that they can positively impact our planet – this is something incredibly special. Not only this, but it is absolutely wonderful to see parents taking initiative by being inspired by their children. What a great example your students are setting and making not only a difference at School, but also outside of it.

It was also wonderful to read you had supplemented your environmental learning with a field trip – the day sounded brilliant, we’re sure they loved visiting their local river! Your acrostic poem Eco-Code is well thought-out, easy to follow with a powerful message. It’s a great reflection of the ethos your Eco-Committee have created, well done to all involved!
