Y4 - Japan Day - June 2025

What a fantastic day Y4 had today with their 'Japan Day' celebrating the culture of such an amazing country! Many thanks to Kumiko-san, Masako-san, Yumiko-san and Kiyo-san from an organisation called 'Japan In Your Classroom' for coming in this morning and facilitating lots of great activities for the children in Blue Class.

The children tried their hand at origami and calligraphy, even learning to write their own names in Japanese! They also heard a traditional Japanese story, learnt about life in Japan and tried on traditional Japanese summer kimonos!

After a fun packed morning, the children made sushi this afternoon (many thanks to Mrs Pena and Mrs Williams), created miniature 'koi nobori' (Japanese carp streamers) and spoke a little Japanese language to their parents/carers who visited the classroom!

All in all, a fun-packed day all about Japan!
