Thursday 8 May 2025 VE Day Commemoration - May 2025 Many thanks to Reverend Tim, members of Walberton's Parish Council and other members of our local community for inviting Key Stage 2 children to join and participate in a V.E. Day commemoration event next to the village hall this morning.

Thursday 1 May 2025 Dance House 2025 A massive well done to our dance group for their brilliant performance last night at Dance House 2025 at the Pavilion Theatre in Worthing. The girls danced and performed superbly to their 'Little Mix' showcase dance. Many thanks to Lucy, our dance choreographer, for helping the girls to put together their dance piece.

Monday 28 April 2025 OPAL Play - Apr 2025 Last Thursday, our OPAL training mentor, Kurti Birkenbeil, visited our school to see how we are progressing with our OPAL play. Kurti said straight away that we are "really taking off" with OPAL and he was impressed with the way the children are utilising many resources to ensure they have a great OPAL lunchtime!

Friday 4 April 2025 PTA Colour Run - Apr 2025 What a great way to finish our Spring term! A huge thank-you to the PTA for once again putting on a superb Colour Run this afternoon in glorious sunshine! The children (and many members of staff) thoroughly enjoyed getting more and more colourful as they ran through the various obstacles embracing all the paint powder that came their way! Photos below.

Friday 4 April 2025 Easter Service at St. Mary's - Apr 2025 A big thank-you to Tim Ward for leading us in Easter worship this morning at St. Mary's in Walberton. Tim talked about the many crosses we see in every day life, leading us to the symbol of the cross where Jesus died for our sin. Photos below.

Tuesday 1 April 2025 Y4 - Easter Assembly - Apr 2025 Well done to Year 4 this afternoon for your respectful retelling of the Easter story. You sang, acted and spoke really well as you retold the story of Holy Week leading up to Easter Sunday. Photos below.

Tuesday 1 April 2025 Stingers' Area Netball Final - March 2025 Our Netballers qualified for the for the Hi-5 Stingers Netball Area Final and did a fantastic job competing against the top teams in our locality last week! Through their dedication of turning up to club week in week out, our netballers did us proud.

Wednesday 19 March 2025 Oliver Twist - School's Theatre Production Many thanks to the PTA for funding a real treat this afternoon as the M and M Theatrical Productions came to town to deliver a stirring, energetic production of Oliver Twist - the children loved seeing live theatre in our school! Wednesday 19 March 2025 St Mary's Art Exhibition - Mar 2025 On Thursday and Friday last week, the children really enjoyed attending the art exhibition at St. Mary's Church here in Walberton. Many members of the local community commented on how polite, respectful and well-mannered the children were as they looked round at all the exhibits. The children were also proud to see their own art exhibits taking pride of place around the altar at St. Mary's. Photos below.

Thursday 13 March 2025 Henry Adams World Book Day Prize Winners - Mar 2025 A massive well done to all the entrants in the Henry Adams World Book Day competition this year - some very imaginative use of recycled materials to create book characters for everyone to admire! There were so many brilliant entries that it was difficult for Dee Tickner (from Henry Adams) to pick out three overall winners - congratulations to the winning designs! Photos here.

Thursday 13 March 2025 Swimming Gala - Mar 2025 Well done to all our swimmers at the Swimming Gala 2025 -only boys this year - hopefully we'll have a full complement of girls next year! The boys came a respectable 9th out of 16 schools. The highlight was a first place for Cairo in the boys' 25m backstroke! Photos below.

Thursday 6 March 2025 Corporate Challenge Road Race - Race One - Mar 2025 Well done to all our runners in the first of a series of 3 races around the streets of Chichester in the annual Y5/Y6 road races. There was a terrific atmosphere yesterday evening with everyone supporting all the runners. Most of our runners hadn't run the course before - you did superbly in giving it your best! A particular mention to Ella in Y6, who placed 14th out of 105 Y6 girls! On to the next race in two week's time!

Sunday 16 February 2025 Y5/Y6 Stingers' Netball Competition - Feb 2025 Mrs Plater and Mrs York took some of our Year 5 and 6 children to The Arena on Tuesday for a Netball Tournament between 8 local schools. Our children had an exciting afternoon and came third out of 7 overall. Congratulations Team W&B!

Tuesday 4 February 2025 Cross Country - Jan 2025 Well done to all our participants at the Cross Country event at Bishop Luffa school last Wednesday - you all ran really well in somewhat muddy conditions! A particular well done to Nancy, who finished in the top 20 in the Y6 girls' race, qualifying for the next round!

Thursday 19 December 2024 Drama Club Christmas Performance - Dec 2024 A huge well done to the drama club, run by a Year 6 team, for putting on a fantastic performance of the Christmas story this afternoon. It was really impressive the way you organised everything: from a script, to assigning roles, to sorting costumes, to creating the PowerPoint backdrop and everything else in between! Fantastic creative, independent and initiative skills - well done also to all our performers from KS2 - a super achievement from everyone involved in the drama club! Photos below.

Thursday 19 December 2024 Christmas Lunch - Dec 2024 It was very festive this lunchtime as the children enjoyed their Christmas lunch from Chartwells (or their own Christmassy packed lunch). The children enjoyed a Christmas sing-song, particularly enjoying "The Twelve Days of Christmas" where the children stood up when it was their birthday month in the song! Photos below.

Wednesday 18 December 2024 Hugo - Christmas Worship - Dec 2024 A welcome Christmas tradition at Walberton and Binsted CE Primary School is that, for the last Wednesday worship of the year with Hugo, we hold our worship in our magnificent atrium! Hugo's message was that, alongside enjoying all the festivities, we must not forget it is Jesus' birthday. Photos below.

Tuesday 17 December 2024 Henry Adams Christmas Diorama Competition Winners - Dec 2024 Well done to all the children who entered the Henry Adams Christmas Diorama Competition. This really captured the school's imagination as we had 49 entries for this competition! There were so many beautifully crafted Christmas dioramas that it was extremely difficult for Dee and Louise from Henry Adams to choose the winners. A particular well done to our seven runners up and the overall winner, who won a fantastic Lego prize! Well done to everyone who entered this competition!

Friday 6 December 2024 Santa's Grotto and Christmas Fair - Dec 2024 What a fantastic Christmassy day we have had today at Walberton and Binsted C.E. School! This morning, Father Christmas paid us a visit and the children chose presents for their loved ones. After school, we had a magnificent Christmas Fair - superbly organised and run by our wonderful PTA! Many thanks to everyone who has made the whole week special with lots of festive treats!

Thursday 5 December 2024 Magical Christmas Box - Dec 2024 What truly magical singing, dancing and acting this week from Red, Orange and Yellow classes with your 'Magical Christmas Box' performances! Well done to all the children, parents/carers (who made the costumes and helped the children learn their lines and learn the songs) and the infant teaching team for all your hard work in putting this together.
