Pupil Premium

The Pupil Premium funding is additional funding for publicly funded schools in England to raise the attainment of disadvantaged pupils.  It is allocated to schools based on the number of children who are eligible for Free School Meals (FSM); those who have been eligible at any point over the last 6 years (Ever 6); children of service families and children who are looked after by the local authority (CLA).  This funding is to be used by the school to ensure that these pupils make good progress and achieve the best possible outcomes in their education.

At Walberton & Binsted CE Primary School we have an inclusive approach which means we support all our pupils.  We do this by providing high quality classroom teaching that is supplemented by interventions to support vulnerable learners as and when they need this.

The school’s Senior Leadership Team and our Governing Body monitor the impact of all spending and interventions, including Pupil Premium.  The Pupil Premium Grant has been used to support our families and children who are entitled to the funding, whilst also supporting others, who may also be disadvantaged, wherever possible.

The links below provide you with more information about the Pupil Premium, how our school spends the funding and how we plan to spend it in the future.

We encourage all families who feel they may be eligible to apply for Pupil Premium, to contact the school.  By applying, you could provide extra funding to the school for your child’s education.
