Admissions
Thank you for your interest in your child attending Walberton and Binsted CE Primary School. We would be delighted to welcome you to visit us and see what a special place our school is. Please contact the school office to arrange a tour.
Applying for a place
Walberton and Binsted CE Primary is a voluntary controlled school. This means that admissions are managed by West Sussex County Council, who is the admissions authority for the school.
All applications for places at our school must be made through West Sussex County Council.

Admissions criteria
The oversubscription criteria used to allocate places at our school are set by West Sussex County Council and apply to all community and voluntary controlled schools in the county.
Full details of the current admissions arrangements, including how places are allocated, can be found here.
We recommend that parents read the council’s guidance carefully before applying.
Published Admission Number (PAN)
Our Published Admission Number (PAN) is 30
This is the number of children we can admit into the Reception Year each year.
Catchment area
Walberton and Binsted CE Primary has a defined catchment area. Living within the catchment area does not guarantee a place, but it may give higher priority under the council’s admissions criteria.
You can check your catchment school using the West Sussex Find your Catchment area schools page
In-year applications
If you are applying for a place outside the normal intake, you will still need to apply through West Sussex County Council.
Information about in-year applications can be found here.
Appeals
If your child is not offered a place at our school, you have the right to appeal. Appeals are administered by West Sussex County Council.
Further information about the appeals process is available here.
